Why your spiritual desires are so weak?

We are all a work in progress. I believe that Heavenly Father is soverign, and He has our life already mapped out for us. I also believe that it is His plan for us all to return to Him.

As for our part of the relationship - it might be that some are confused as to how to worship / serve Him (there are so many different religions), or are just blinded and bound. Like every other relationship, though, we must work at it! :-)

I can only speak for myself, so here's hoping this doesn't offend anyone.

The world is constantly pounding me with insults, attacks, and snide remarks whenever I so much as mention anything having to do with spirituality or faith. I have been told that I'm ignorant, stupid, immature, a sheep, and that I have a mental disorder -- all because I believe in something that someone else doesn't. It is frustrating and if it happens enough, really breaks my spirit. It leaves me spiritually unmotivated.

It also leaves me feeling adversarial. If I look closely enough at the naysayers, they too have gods. Their gods are usually politics or science or technology or whatnot. Realizing this makes me want to fight back, and that is not productive.

people are more comfortable following their id than seeking something that requires self inflection or sophisticated thought.

Faith is a very complicated subject for the heart to grasp and understand.

I agree with alicia87... i think it is a huge apart of the society as to why spiritual desires are so weak. Think of Asia, of the monks and how their spiritual desires are the ideal for that area, but over in the western culture, we think of that as radical and almost crazy.

First I would have to have an unambiguous definition of “spiritual” My desires are many and varied. I desire food, drink, shelter, knowledge of all sorts. Hard to say without any real definition of the word “spiritual”
