Women do not get paid for a lot of useful stuff and men do a lot of useless stuff and get paid. Why?

Actually, women DO get paid for a lot of useful stuff when you consider that they don't have to pay others to do those same tasks that are required to sustain a family. In America, this year they estimated a stay at home mom typically provided over $100,000 worth of services to her family. And in this economy, there are more and more stay at home Dads, too!

Until we as a culture decide that we should change the status quo it will continue this way. Remember at one time we, women, did not even have the right to vote. Change and evolution takes time.

It is true, i am a man, and think it is sad that the world still think that way,it must be a some thing that originated in the days when woman was seen as property and they had no rights, my opinion is that woman can bring more to this world. and give woman a turn to rule men had their chance and from the beginning of time there where only war and turmoil.

The problem is that men get all the pay because they are seen as the “providers” this whole protector / provider problem is deadly serious, but it’s hard to get that through peoples heads. Just the other day on here a woman was talking about feeling “safe and protected” around her boy friend. She asked what every one though about it and I said it was morally wrong that if women are picking mates on the bases of looking for protection that was a form of prostitution. It was amazing how many people jumped in to “save” her the way they would a child. Women have been taught to act helpless for too long and others have been taught to think of them that way. The problem is the are NOT taken seriously. This has GOT to stop if we are to have equality. Speak out when you see sexism and inequality it’s very important. Never let ignorant people silence you ever!

On the other hand, I can take care of myself, but in a one on one fight with a male, I will get my butt kicked 99 percent of the time. I am not helpless, I am extremly strong for a female. I will find a way to win, but I know what my strengths are as well as my weaknesses.

I am verry good at my job and my employer values that. The guys where I work that make the big bucks also have a lot less job security than me. Maybe people like me have just learned that money is not everything so we work for decent money rather than fight for more money and a less stable job???

Sexism.

Those are the traditional gender roles. In the more advanced countries the roles are becoming less defined.
