Women Only!!! Sorry Boys.?

What does it mean when your period has been irregular for the past two months? Is it bad if you are late (but know you are not pregnant)?

Its means your irregular. Did you start or stop the pill? Did you have stress? Stress can delay ovulation(not period) causing you to have a longer cycle.

I've gone as long as 110 days between cycles. Normal? No but it does happen for a lot of reasons. Mostly I average 35 days which is normal(finally regulated about 3 years after my daughter was born) range. But when I stress I easily go longer that 35 days.

We have between 11 and 13 periods per year depending on our cycle. Although you say you aren’t pregnant it may be a good idea to teat yourself as if you are until you are certain. Many women have gone 9 months and delivered a baby without knowing they were pregnant.

That said other common reasons for missed periods could include the following:

• Excessive weight loss or gain. Although low body weight is a common cause of missed or irregular periods, obesity also can cause menstrual problems.
• Increased exercise. Missed periods are common in endurance athletes.
• Eating disorders, such as anorexia or bulimia. Emotional stress.
• Illness.
• Medicines such as hormonal birth control methods, which may cause lighter, less frequent, skipped periods or no periods at all. Have you recently changed birth control methods?
• Travel
• Hormone problems.
• There is also polycystic ovary syndrome or Asherman's syndrome and then others such as diabetes or thyroid disease can have an effect on your period but genrally won't make you skip altogether.

It depends: have you been stressed or feeling emotions you don't normally feel? Sleeping irregularly, eating irregularly, eating things you don't usually eat.

Being late isn't bad in itself, nor does it always indicate something specific, it's often that something's upset your cycle.
But if you're been regular as clockwork for several years and for no reason, your cycle has changed, maybe a medical checkup could be a good idea.

Might just be stress. I wouldn't be too concerned if everything else seems normal with you. If it continues, ask your gyno.

It really depends on what your body usually does. As asked above, are you usually right on time? If you have a pattern of being irregular, why worry? But if you are always on time, then maybe a trip to the gyno is what you need. Now, you are positive that you aren't preggers?

If always irregular its probable alright, but if its a new pattern it could be one of the above(answers) but it wouldn't hurt to see Doc and get a professional opinion.

I've been irregular for a long time. Once they had to put me on birth control to regulate me. I believe it mainly stems from hormones being unbalanced. It is not dangerous as far as I know. But, other things can cause it too. For example, poor eating habits/nutrition and other things. I have heard the most common reason are your hormones being out of whack.

Could be stress or it could be endometriosis. Go to your doctor and he can check for you.

it could be stress-related. sometimes a change in medications or eating habits can also cause that.
