Would a good parent do drugs with their teenage child?

My mother and my father who were never married and didn't live together did drugs with me. I was just wondering what your thoughts were. I personally would never even dream about it. It just bother's me that they didn't care about the lasting effects it would have on me.
Okay Iw ill be specific, not just weed but crack, crank, and shooting up.

No, I don't do those things myself and I'd never let my children think it's okay. I'd like to enforce good habits to my kids, not an early death.

BTW, I know a friend of mine whose parents were like this. The parents excused it by saying they'd rather the kids do 'clean drugs' with them at home instead of scoring 'tainted' stuff off the streets. My friends thought it was sooooo cool until it got them dependant, arrested, on probation and ruined their young lives. Now, they're jobless HS dropouts with illegitimate dope addicted children of their own (that they had starting at age 14) AND they still live with their parents doing 'safe clean drugs' everyday.
Sooo, yeah, sorry I don't think this is quite the route I'd wanna take with my kids.

It depends. Here's one example where I suspect everyone would be OK with a parent using drugs with his child:

1. Child is 19, dying of leukemia, in California, with only medical marijuana to ease his pain effectively.
2. Parent is 45, suffers from anxiety, and also smokes marijuana with a valid medical marijuana card.
3. The parent and child smoke weed together in the child's room in the parent's house, and they talk about life.

I'm ok with it, personally. I actually think it's probably better to do it with a parent (though kind of lame from the kid's point of view) since a parent is more likely to get stuff that is what it's supposed to be. I know a lot of kids who have bought something that wasn't what it was labelled as and gotten really ****** up from it.

I can't agree with that if it is for "recreational means" teaching a young individual potential habits for addiction to harmful substances.

I'm sure there are parents somewhere that could pull it off. It is very unlikely.

I think if they screwed up too bad, you wouldn't even be considering what its consequences were. You'd just be a wondering fruitcake with no real curiosity about anything.

In general, not a good idea.

There MIGHT possibly be some circumstances, as stated by Lucyinthesky, where it would be reasonable...

hmmm no. A good parent should be open enough to talk to them about it. With a clear and open mind.

I think it would be alright if the parent didn't introduce the drug into the child's life.
If the parent knew that he smoked pot and was at a reasonable age then i think i would be ok to do so.
