    This info comes from a man who currently lives there:
    Women are still marginalized
    Gay people are prosecuted
    83% of Egyptian women report being sexually harrassed daily
    67% of Egyptian men, when asked, admit that they harrass women but, they all say, "it's the fault of the women"
    Do you want to live in such a barbaric place?

    I visited there, so I guess I can answer this. It was a pretty nice time. The pyramids are big and impressive, and there are lots of other things to see. Assuming you are not from the area, the culture is foreign and interesting. I'd recommend it as a trip . . .

    I've been there twice.

    Now is NOT the time to go there!!!

    When things settle down and life is back to normal, then you can consider visiting the place. I highly recommend a trip to Luxor.
