Greek. As far as I know, they weren't throwing people to lions.
The Romans were enjoying the show. It was the barbarians and criminals who got tossed to lions. Romans had a very good life for a long while.
Well, they threw Christians in the ring, too -- unless you happen to be one of those who "lump" Christians in with barbarians & criminals. Besides, they had a lot of really nutty, dangerous rulers, who probably went out selecting people at random to execute just because they themselves were having bad hair day, or whatever!
Greek, the taxes were less.
Greek. They had some really great thinkers, philosophers, artists, etc. The Romans had politicians and generals. The good ideas the Romans had, they borrowed from the Greeks, mostly. But not enough of them.
Are we talking ancient? Greek in that case because they seemed so cerebral, the romans had a more militaristic culture, in my mind anyway.
I have a slight fear of both.
I dont know too much about the two but i'd go with Sparta Greece. Because i think they had the best social and educational system.
As in Ancient? Roman---my too butt's sensitive for that Greek love stuff
Greek.
I am an Australian and i have met and worked with a few Greeks they are top people really nice i get along with them well.
I have also had contact with Italians. They are vain, shallow, suffer from machismo complex and are generally self-absorbed narcissists.
No doubt there are good down to earth Italians out there but i have yet to have the honour of meeting them.
Greek men were always successfully seducing the Women of Rome :)
