Would this be helpful?

So I have some music online at a bunch of different places. I'm thinking about taping myself playing one of the songs that are similar to the ones on my CD and putting it on youtube, so that when people listen and watch me play, they'll want to get more of my music from online. Wouldn't this be helpful?

Yes. It is a good way to market your music as well as networking with other artists.

definitely. also, you might want to check out these cds they have out called 'band in the pocket'. they're rhythm section cds for soloist musicians. they're great! they have a few blues, a jazz, and a rock version that i know of. you should be able to get them at any good sized music store. they're put out by a company called 'five fingers music'. the website is www.fivefingers.com i highly recommend them!
