Would You Augment/Enhance Yourself?

After playing the game Deus Ex: Human Revolution and waiting for the game Cyberpunk 2077, I wonder whether anyone would want to augment themselves. Augmenting yourself means that you improve/enhance yourself via technological upgrades. These upgrades could be seen as more or less important (everything from replacing a bad limb with a stronger one all the way "down" to an enhancement that allows you to have knives in your arms).

I want you to take into account that adding too many enhancements may cause your body to reject them, pretty much making you go "crazy".
This is only a trailer for the game Cyberpunk 2077, but perhaps it will give you some idea of what I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P99qJGrPNLs

Please explain why you would, or why you wouldn't wish to augment yourself.

I would make myself stronger, smarter, and faster. Those always seen to be the basis of change. Technologically wise, that sounds completely dangerous and just plain crazy. Why would you want a chip planted in your head? Or better yet a mechanical hand that'll rip your d!ck off if you tried jacking off? Improving myself like in Deus with mechanical limps isn't necessary. As for in the game it was his ONLY option. Using it as more of a last resort instead of asking for it when normal. The only improvement I would make is to have a piece of equipment that's easy to take off and on like a vest. Nothing implanted or biologically changed.

I agree, it sounds very risky, especially if there's a risk that your body will reject it if you overdo it. I suppose that the part where my jaw pretty much fell to the ground was when you were in that brothel and overheard that hooker sort of being forced to augment herself because her clients wanted it.. I suppose this is what frightens me most about "improving" oneself via tech, that there's going to be so many pointless ("imo") upgrades. (for anyone wondering, this happened in the game Deus Ex: Human Revolution.) I used to joke that I'd like to implant headphones close to my ears, pretty much like Adam has his glasses... ^^ But in all honesty, that would be pretty silly.

I know the game. So I'm well aware of what you're talking about... Ok?? Anyway. It should only be given to those with disabilities. I could say the same thing about smartphones though... I just think there should be two versions of a new advanced product. One with full capability for the disabilied and one with just the basics for the norms.

Probably not, to old to recoup the investment, I have already replaced a bad part.

Maybe I've just gotten it wrong, but can you really call that evolution? Isn't evolution something that happens naturally, without anyone or anything interfering?
