I'm breaking the law on a daily basis. and not to save someone, but for my own hedonistic ***.

It would depend upon the situation .... IF they were committing a crime ; then NO ... they have to pay for the conserquences of their actions ...
BUT; if they were the victims of an attack - crime of some kind ; YES; I would do whatever was called for to protect them ...

Each situation is unique, but if pushed into a corner and I know all the true facts. I would consider it. Without a doubt even if it meant I had to spend some time in prison. I believe the law is a guideline to stay within. However, under certain circumstances the flexibility in what is called the exception to the rule has to be chosen. I.e. if some scumbag was about to kill my friend and I had the chance to take him or her I would do without a second thought if I was given the chance.

I have broken the law to help loved ones, but I'm not too big on following law anyway. I have my own moral standards that I adhere to strictly.
