Would you buy a house on a corner lot?

I might consider it if the neighborhood was peaceful enough. Although after owning two homes in the past, I have found that for me personally I prefer to rent.

I don't like cutting more grass and shovelling extra walkway (although I do it all the time for my eternally absent neightbour). So no.

not a cent would I pay, but would take it for free. They are dangerous depending on location and traffic flow.

Maybe, it all depends on how busy the streets are. If you see one you like, visit the house during different times of the day and on different days for awhile and see if the traffic and noise is affecting it before you decide to make an offer. Then, if you do offer, offer lower because of the corner situation.

That is a valid concern, very valid! Resale value is something you need to look at closely with any property. One thing, you may can get it cheap that way. Think about how long you plan to stay there. Just remember this, for any thing you buy right now, the Buyer is "THE BULLY" !!!Like (1)

I think corner lots are great! Better view. More on street parking. Usually larger. The only down side is more sidewalk to shovel in you live where there is snow. You have less privacy on a regular lot than on a corner I think because you've got people on both sides of your house.

I'm on a corner lot, one of the roads pretty busy (I mean not by city standards, but by rural standards which is what matters to me) I don't worry about privacy quite so much as just wanting peace and quiet.

No, but then again I'm not the house buying type.

I have lived in one... Depends on the other advantages, our one street was busy, the other quiet and we had no kids yet.
