The funny thing is you think they are different.

No, when they both run perfectly they go to the same thing. In perfect capitalism profit is used to serve customers rather than improve social status and you end up with perfect communism where society is promoting itself at top efficiency. Your definition of perfect is flawed.Like (1)

Communism any-day!!! As I value community, not individualism

Nothing is ever "perfect". If you think so, you're dreaming. (Only my opinion)

Both are equally doomed to failure in their absolute forms.

Neither. Capitalism is not American its British and was introduced to the US in the 1800s after Britian decided they could not defeat us militarily after 2 separate attempts (Revolutionary War and War of 1812 ) The Romneys and Bushs are two prime examples of undercover redcoats their ancestors came from Britian and were and are aristocrats America was always a Mercantilist nation before the 1800s and thats a lot different from runaway capitalism like we have now Modern day redcoats like Boehner and Kantor and all the southern states are good examples of those who put their personal profit over the well being of America

Since it's hypothetical, perfect communism. It's makes more sense for the species as a whole. Then again perfect capitalism I suppose could be equally beneficial... this might be an unanswerable question.

Well, perfection of either is impossible. I choose to live in a democratic socialist system (sometimes referred to as a welfare state) such as Norway, or Sweden or Finland, some other European countries and even Russia. I like voting, having free speech and assembly. I don't believe that seeing to the welfare of a people robs them of their incentive or we would see many of the countries I mentioned with standards of living and other measures below the attainment of the US instead of equal or superior to it.

Like my country already is.... in the middle of it, and has the best idea from both sides. and it works perfectly, since there are no real poor here, and it free for every man/woman to do what he/she wants. So I would say none of them

Neither one is possible, due to human nature.

There are no perfect choices. If humans are involved, we screw things up the first chance we get ;-)

neither one of them are perfect and never will be, corruption sets in and ruins it for everyone who is working hard to support the system.

I think that communism, if you actually read about it, is a perfect idea created for Utopia with human beings who are without selfish motivations and who don't go to war over a difference of opinions. As long as humans are human, they will desire to be more than they are and power struggles will always exist. So communism, however lovely the concept, wont work on a large scale and Capitalism is both wonderful and terrible. The value of things is confused in America because of capitalism: everything boils down to money and not everyone can make enough of it; there have to be extremely poor people for there to be extremely rich ones. So communism eliminates the capacity to dream because your place in life is chosen for you and it will always be equal to that of those around you, and capitalism makes us all dream of the same thing: money. They both suck, let's explore new options lol
