I don't eat meat these days. Food Inc...a modern day horror story.

Is that what a McDonald's is? A lab? Never really thought it was meat anyway.

No way. I'd gag. I love beef burgers though. I bet they don't have the texture of real beef.

i wouldn't even eat genetically modified corn if i was given a choice.
i certainly wouldn't volunteer to go first, unless it was part of a parole deal.

    Interesting idea in theory.
But in practice, I don't see how they'll do it.

You need a source of animal cells to begin with, and to keep propagating them, they'd either need to be sourced from a tumour, or we'd need to genetically alter them or transform them with a virus.

That or they'd have to have a fresh source of cells to start from every time, which really defeats the purpose :/

No, the idea is that they can grow the muscle tissue in culture. So no animal dies to make it in theory. However, we need a source of animal cells to begin with, and to keep them growing "indefinitely' they need to be transformed... there's no way they'll do that for food. Hell, I had to apply for a gov't license just to do it for research :/
