Would you end your marriage if your mother-in-law was hostile towards you?

No I would'nt end it because of my mother-in-law. It would be my husbands job to clue her in that being rude to his wife is not something he will stand for. I guess I'm lucky to have a mother-in-law who is very easy going. If your husband is not willing to do this then he is not a real man.

Does the husband stick up for me? If not I would have a heart to heart and try to work it out. But I didn't marry my inlaws. Nobody says you have to deal with them.

There are lots of ways to convince the in-laws when we truly love our spouse. Give them honey when they give you poison.

No I wouldn't unless my husband refused to move away from her or not talk to her or talk some sense into her. I would tell him, "if you don't get her in line, I'm leaving."

I stayed married to my ex for 6 years with the in-laws from hell. In the end she listened to them and decided I was not good enough for her.

Plant "learn to fly brochures in her house - wear gloves" .. then anonymously call the authorities ... the black ties should quietely shuffle her out of your life for a few years ..

No mother in law or any other relative for that matter, could scare or anger me away from the woman I love...not a chance in hell.

No--I'd have married my husband for HIM, not his family.

Isn't nearly all Mother in laws hostile toward the new spouse? It's just the way things are for many reasons. Some get over it as they get used to you. Some never do. So what, who cares? You married your spouse not the in laws. Make sure they always know your not there to take their child away from them, but your not their for them to kick around either. If they love their child, then they need to respect his or her choice in a life long spouse and partner.

You're married to your husband, not your mother in law.

Not unless she manipulated your husband and he never supported you against her.

No....I would just stay away from the so called hostile mother-in-law, but I would NOT be obvious about it to avoid unecessary drama! :)
