My friend lets his twelve and nine year olds watch it, and they enjoy it a great deal. The sexual innuendos go over the nine year old's head, just like the computer game references go over the adults'. The twelve year old understands the show completely. ;)

If I had a fourteen year old I would. Things were not censored for me when I was a kid and I turned out okay. Also, I don't recall that show being terribly inappropriate...

it is :) all the dirty jokes and if you did not observe that this kind of series is not appropriate you have already a problem. just a bunch of nerds who have the supreme goal to find a girl and had sex with her :)

If all you think you have to worry about is what your children watch on television, then you clearly live in a very affluent and safe part of this world.

Whatever you do, don't let them know about the 10,000 innocent children who die on this planet from starvation every single day, never let them know anything about mans inhumanity to man, the ruthlessness of our so called respectable Corporate world, the corruption of our police, our legal system and the judiciary, how Kings became Kings and Queens became Queens, never let them know anything other than you're a loving caring Mom who worries about really important things like what's on TV, SHEEEEEESH!

Children are just as entitled to the truth as the rest of us, Big Bang Theory is a brilliantly funny show with the most perfect cast of characters, it actually reflects the reality of a small group of people who live in the very same world you do. It's the truth, believe me, your child can handle the truth.

For Pete's sake, I thought I was responding to a parent, I now discover this question was posted by a 14 year old. In that case, I hope the 14 year old shows my response to his parents.

Well there are some inappropriate thing's in this show so if your wondering because of your mom i would ask them first. But if it was up to me i would i don't see the problem because you understand were baby's come from then your fine.
As long as you understand what's okay and what isn't okay in real life of tv show's.
And understand it's a funny show then your good.
    But age's under 13 i wouldn't recommend it for.

Yes. I'd rather have my 14-year-old watch that than crap like Jersey Shore and Teen Mom.

The relationship with Leonard and Penny is realistically awkward and Sheldon's friends put up with him despite his inflexibility, so it shows worthwhile stuff. There are so many shows that disrespect people worse.

Sure! What about that show would disturb a 14-year-old? Does Doogie Hauser give you nightmares? What do you think will happen? They'll start doing drugs? Become a serial killer? What do you think will happen?
