    It's purely a cultural decision. I don't have any children, but I don't think it's a high risk thing if parents choose to do so.

    I would not pierce my baby's ears. My mother was a very good example of why I wouldn't and she said she wanted it to be my choice since they were my ears. I did not get mines done until I was 15. I do not really see a point in baby's having piercings unless the mother just wants to treat them like complete dress-up dolls. Not to mention the babies will not really understand the process of wearing earrings becuase it takes weeks to heal, the earrings have to stay in the ears. Plus the baby might tamper with it and pull it out.

    No. Because the baby did not ask to have them pierced. It should be the individuals decision, not the parents.
