Mud pies sound tasty.... but they really are not
I believe dirt is actually better for you.
Dirt (soil) will have the components for good health, good minerals for the bones and blood.
Dirt seems less course than sand
Dirt- there are actually alot of beneficial enzymes in dirt, Elephants travel miles to eat a certain dirt fount only on the cliffs near a river, scientists examined it and found it had a natural antibiotic in it!!! There are trace minerals in dirt too and some are bottled and sold as vitamins because we do not get our dirt naturally anymore like when we grew our own vegetables- everything bought in the grocery store has to be washed so thouroughly today because of all the pesticides and possibility of e coli from the big agri using human sewerage as fertilizer-
Dirt.....sand can cause impaction.
Dirt, More organic matter more variety.

Sand...better fiber ;)
