I receive and love them both. I know I'm being thought of, whether in a hurry or when he can take a moment to actually write it down by hand. There's always a thrill to open your e-mail box while he's at work and see a sweet note from him letting me know he's thinking of me while he's at work or the sweet note he puts in my lunch when he packs it for me to take to work.

Handwritten, seems more personal and meaningful.

Definitely handwritten. It shows more emotion and more thought. I used to write handwritten letters to my best friend when we started college. She was away at school and I had stayed in our hometown. Sending and receiving letters made us feel like 18th century ladies. ^_^

Hypothetically speaking, I ´d prefer the handwritten note.
Realistically speaking, it is better to expect an email.

Depends, if we are both at our respective workplaces, an email can prepare the mood for later...discretely of course.

If you rise before your man and need to run errands a hand written note is definitely better.

either one, because just knowing they're thinking of you and have taken the time to write is a very special feeling. there is something about handwritten notes, though, that i find especially charming!

Definitely, without reservation, handwritten. I believe it's more personal and romantic to know that they have taken the time to write to you. It is much more meaningful than just a few taps on a keyboard and hitting the send button. While i haven't recieved a handwritten letter in years, i remember the joy and suprise it made me feel and i cannot wait to experience it again! :) :) :)

Either one is fine by me. Come to think of it, I don't think he still remembers how to write longhand!

Handwriiten letter no doubt. My fiance and I write each other letters every so often. It feels good to know that someone would take time out of their day to write you. besides everyone loves getting stuff in the mail

hand written letter hands down. I met my man online so we did a lot of emails and texts. Months later when I got a letter from him in his own handwritting it just made me feel closer to him

Handwritten. Handwriting is more a part of a person than their choice of font.

i love them both. they are both so thoughtful.
having it written though means slightly more, because he's written it. there is no way it could have been anyone else.

Hand written is always nice because it takes a bit more effort to do and with that effort can come real emotion and expression that may not have come in the same way as typing an email would?

I like handwritten more....although an email, especially a surprise one, would be great, too....If comes from the heart...that's all that really matters
