guess it would depend sorry if they are working under the table to avoid child support yes i would
if just trying to make ends meet no if on SSI would depend
Not if they were really good at it and made me ***.
I wish someone would. Haven't received child support in 11 years--my son is 12 because his dad always works under the table. It's just a way to get out of something and I think everyone should be held to the same standard.
I know what you mean... My ex makes about 3000 in a day making custom cabinets and doesn't offer to buy a pack of diapers...smh
Depends on the country and/or state where they live.
And the only way I'd report someone for working under the table is if they were doing something morally wrong and/or illegal. Otherwise, live and let live.
Thanks. Sure the gov't would get more tax money, but I'm not helping them out. They're not even spending what they have responsibly. They don't need more. Not like I'll benefit.
No....it's not my business.
Reporting someone who gets some "cash in hand" work...
Is a "dog act"... why?
If they (who ever finds them self dobbing in someone like this) are really honest with themselves they will find that underneath their pre-prepared justifications is just someone who is both gutless and jealous in equal measure.
As lets face it... is the government really doing the best it can with our taxes...?
Are they really the bastions of morality they would have you believe?
Fact is there is no sin in minimizing your expenses...
And weather you side step tax by the legal "virtues" wealth allows you or as the common man might by deliberately taking in undeclared income..... there is no difference....
Besides that one is legal and one is not.....
I say mind your own business.... (especially if we are talking about people... not large business)
Only if it's illegally wrong.
no , i just wish i could
No. Before I worked for myself, I worked a lot in hospitality and for some reason my employers always wanted to pay me under the table. Cash in hand, and they wouldn't take out tax. I absolutely hated it because I was also trying to start my own business and had to pay tax on that, and I figured that the tax man would catch up with me if they found out that I was working and not paying tax, so I would end up paying tax from my cash in hand job anyway, which is much harder to sort out than when the boss takes out a small amount of tax from my pay each week like they do when you are on the books. I refuse to do cash in hand jobs now because it is too much trouble, and if I am going to go to all that trouble and sort out my own tax then I would rather be working for myself.
When I was working for other people, getting paid under the table wasn't really a choice, but they were the only jobs available to me. I would rather be on the books because my tax is taken out automatically which makes things much easier than having to sort it out myself, superannuation is taken out automatically and I am also insured in case I get a work place injury.
No ,I like to eat just like who ever.
It depends on how I felt about them. But really, report it to who? I have tried to call INS on a guy who was corrupt and malicious, and an illegal alien. Nothing happened. INS didnt even follow up.
Like Monica Lewinsky? Someone reported her....
No. People have to live.
IF they are collecting free benefits (bridge card, cell phone) from those of us that pay taxes for these programs, then yes. I would report them. Don't ask for tax payer help if you don't pay taxes! PERIOD!
