All this misses the point. Religion is about communicating truths about reality in ways we can grasp and understand not only Christianity but other religions are forms of poetry and metaphor and we need them to make sense of life..

Jesus was coached by his overly religious mother to believe that he was the Messiah that the old Testament spoke of (namely the story plagiarised from events that supossedly had happened elsewhere before). So, though Jesus might have lived, he certainly wasn't who he claimed to be, namely because the whole "God" thing is nothing more a joke.
