You interject too much opinion as arguement. People who are proven to be cold blooded killers, beyond a shadow of a doubt, should be dispensed with. I don't like the idea of a murdering rapist breathing our air, or clogging our sewers.
The problems you speak of are the thick headed prosecutors who withold evidence, or fight to prevent retrials when new evidence is discovered. Especially DNA evidence, which is illrefutible.
Don't forget too, that prisons justify the existance of a lot of pigs feeding at the public trough. If these politians cared about the exspence of prison time, they would decriminalize drugs, impose taxes like they do alcohol and tobacco (by far the more leathal killers in our socioty) and build rehabs and schools, which are far cheaper to run than prisons.
Alas....it will never be. WAY TOO SIMPLE.

I do support the death penalty but I also think they should be sure of the guilt before hand
well, that could be changed. it would be easy to make it less expensive than warehousing.

>> 9) The presence of the Death Penalty does not prevent crime... it does not make individuals think twice before committing crime.

but it prevents the same person from re-offending.

I will never support the death penalty because we say killing anyone is wrong and then we put people to death. As a Christian woman the 10 commandments say thou shall not kill and I have to believe that means all people. I think death is too easy let them sit for their lifetime in a cell 24 hours a day and let them worry if they are going to be someone's Bubba for the day.

I'm not for it, although man hasn't evolved enough to know or care how to re-habilitate.

I'll THROW "the ball back into your court":
Suppose (REALLY Imagine!; If you HAVE an Imagination) YOUR "family" Throws you In Jail; for "a small mistake"- say like Destroying some property of theirs; which CAN be replaced-whereas Betrayal of YOUR Trust "cannot" Be Remedied- and THEN "forgets" about you WHILE you are Locked UP and YOU "suffer Physical and Mental TORTURE" there in the Facility. Shattering "YOU" inside and making YOU "feel REALLY Hurt inside". You "emerge" ONE Day from SUCH Abuse 'A Free Person' again....But NOT "the same person" you WERE "when you were arrested". Do YOU "still" Feel PASSIONATELY (!) about Jail "and Locking People Up" ??? OR "IS" Your Perspective "altered"; to where YOU "now" believe The Jail System "IS" A Hideous Place...and NOT "worthy" of ANYONE being Confined in ???!

I would never be happy about supporting the Death Penalty; but sure, certain people who are a danger to society must be restrained suitably so they can't repeat their offence...
