I've rescued a mouse from the cat, but never got there in time to rescue a bird.

If 'that bird' is my 22-yr-old African Grey parrot that I raised from a 2-day-old chick, I'd KILL the frickin' cat!

Yes. I actually rescued a little baby turkey from my mother-in-laws cat last Fall. I put the cat in the house and went back outside to see how the little baby turkey was doing and it was gone, along with all the other adult turkeys and babies who were at the bird feeder. So, the little baby was okay.
