Wtk how many times your heart has been broken?

Mmm. That question is too easy to answer too quickly.

Heartbreak seems to be a symptom of the collapse of an energetic system that is pushed into the future. For example, you meet someone, fall in love, and all of a sudden you are imagining the things you will do together. Each of those imaginings puts a pin into the future, and it's like there's a string attached to that pin and you are trying to pull yourself and that other person toward that imagined future event.

Then something happens and all of the strings get cut - that future is no longer viable, and the force that was projecting it out there collapses catastrophically. When this happens, all of the energy you had put out there has to go somewhere, and it recoils on you, since you were its source. Only now the energy isn't welcome: its a reminder of a hurt or a failure, so it's toxic to you. You have to transmute it into something you can assimilate and dissipate, and until that occurs, the pain is a reminder that you have unfinished business.

I know this wasn't the answer you were looking for, but the real meaning of heartbreak isn't quantifiable by a number.

Well twice. Maybe I count it as once because they were literally within days of eachother. It's kind of a long story.
And nothing against other people- but I think people who say they've had their heart broken tons of times ..quite frankly I think it's not true. Just because when I got my heart broken it was the worst thing ever- I am terrified to ever feel that pain again and I didn't smile for like 3 months. And If everyone got their heart broken thousands of times- no one would ever smile.

I once was actually thinking of getting a heart tattooed on my back and that for every time I had my heart broken I'd get another needle tattooed into the heart. After careful consideration I realized I wouldn't have the money or the space for that many tattoos. I put my heart into everything I do, when it doesn't work I tend to take it pretty deep.

Once for when my grandparents were killed in a car accident with my little girl cousin and her grandfather, once for when my mother died and once for loss of my first love which I'm still recovering from now (it was very recent).

Everyone's definition of a broken heart is different but these are the times when I really grieved. They say a broken heart is like going through heroin withdrawal in the brain. I wouldn't doubt it.

When my parents divorced after 38 years of marriage...a very traumatic time for me.

When my father passed away 5 years ago.

And once when I was truly, deeply, and madly in love.

Your heart can be broken in so many different ways and in sof many different situations.

For me, keeping track of a broken heart is not healthy. Keeping in mind the "loving, warm and fuzzy" thoughts that each people evoked in me, is worth keeping track of!

Wow - good question.
I believe that in order for your heart to truly have been broken, you must have given your heart away -- and I agree with some of the others here.

It is too traumatic to truly, truly give it away thousands of times -- I think I have truly, TRULY had my heart broken twice -- where my earth and foundation was actually shattered.

The problem that I have today is the last time my heart broke - it's never been quite the same. I still don't trust -- and I probably never will.

lol...

nice topic.. but i see heart as pumping machine..if it broke then one can die....heart cannot break but our hopes and wishes and plans so i many time lose my plan but then i restart them with a brave heart.. so be have a brave heart..and thats life.. we should learn how to live with broken and feelings, emotions and wounded knees.. i think heart always do his duty firmly , daily beats and give us the feelings that we are alive.. do not put extra weight on ur heart.. use ur head too.. rite..

Regards

Countless. By friends, family, loves--both tiny and big.

A broken heart, I think, doesn't just come from a major break up.

It comes from disappointments, and hurts. And in a lifetime, it's uncountable.

By a man, only once, By family, constantly and it still keeps happening. By friends a few times.

PRINCES DI had her heart broken once in a car crash. She died. So I would guess you can only have your heart broken once and then you die.
