I was never much of a gamer, but do have a PS3 mainly for the ability to play blu-ray discs

    I own all 3.

Out of those 3 - I rarely played the Wii and now no longer play it.

I played the PS3 a few times..but found that the online service, though free, had an awful community and sold it. PS3 seems to be more for fans of JRPGs and games of that ilk.

I still own my Xbox, but I have since migrated to mainly PC gaming. I find the community on Xbox to be marginally better than the one on ps3 depending on the game, but both communities are pretty awful. Xbox seems to be better for fans of 1st and 3rd Person shooters with a smattering of decent RPGs, mainly not JRPGs. I am not sure if PS3 has VUDU or any of the other online streaming services, aside from Netflix.

Not much graphical difference between the two, despite what people say. I found the need to install games on PS3 rather tedious and needlessly lengthy as well. That being said, the Xbox does NOT play blu-ray disks, whereas the Ps3 does.

I found the Xbox controller to be far more intuitive when compared to the Ps3 controller, as when I tried to play games on the ps3 I felt as if my thumbs and hands had to crunch closer, controller felt equally too small yet also too big.

Just comes down to personal preference at the end of the day, though.

I enjoy my Wii but the new Wii didn't advance technology much. It seems like Nintendo are playing catch up. I really like the Xbox Kinect but I hate to line Microsoft's pockets. If Sony had something like that, I'd probably go for a PS3. The PS2 was nice and reliable.
