I know it is not the birth of the savior. The savior was born at a time of year when the flocks were out grazing, not in the dead of winter. Christmas was celebrated long before the birth of the savior. In fact, Jeremiah condemned it hundreds of years before the savior's parents were born. If you look it up on the weband dig deep in the encyclopedias, you'll find that every holiday is in honor of these really crazy, whacked out gods who I don't even know if they are real or not. Probably representative of some high ranking catholic individual. Christmas, or any holiday for that matter is in no way connected with anything moral or religious. I appreciate you asking this question. All the merry christmas "questions" are aggravating!

Luke 2:7-14 tells us.
"7and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.
