If Sandy is such a national crisis don't you think it's just as bad that all politicians at this time continue their campaigns

You are 100% right all Politicians should cease campaigning till this storm is done and donate their saved campaign expenses to a relief fund .He is the Commander and Chief ,if nothing else he should be a presence in support of the People affected , not out laughing and getting votes.

I don't think he has to be personally involved with "preps" for the hurricane. Good grief, can you imagine how many people in the government are paid to do that? Obama not being involved won't hurt a thing. It might actually let some folks get the job done.

There are people whose job it is to do so. If he doesn't campaign, he won't have any presidency to go back to.

No it's not okay, but it's what he does because he isn't a true leader.

Considering that President Obama is a politician rather than a statesman, it is certainly to be expected.
