    The scandal? Which one?

Are you referring to the priestly ********** in the US? Priestly ********** in Holland? Priestly ********** in Ireland? Priestly ********** in Austria? Priestly ********** in Germany? Priestly ********** in Mexico? Priestly ********** in Canada? Priestly ********** in the Phillipines? Priestly ********** in France?

Were you referring to the slave labour, sexual abuse and physical abuse of women in England and Ireland, the "magdelene laundries"?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magdalene_asylum

Were you referring to the kidnapping of 300,000 babies in Spain by the catholic cult and Franco's fascist regime, the organized kidnapping of children born to political opponents they murdered or even kidnapped from innocent people?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2116259/Prosecutors-charge-Catholic-nun-alleged-stolen-baby-scheme-Madrid-hospitals.html

Were you referring to the kidnapping of thousands of babies by South American fascist dictatorships, where the catholic cult kidnapped babies and "placed them for adoption" with rich people? Argentina's fascist regime usually flew its political dissidents out over the ocean and dropped them into the water from thousands of feet in the air. Without parachutes. And all with the blessing (or blind eye) of the catholic cult.

Or were you referring to the vatican bank's participation with the Sicilian Mafia in the 1980s' land flipping scam and the murder of Roberto Calvi? How does someone "commit suicide" and hang themselves with hands tied BEHIND the back?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banco_Ambrosiano

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roberto_Calvi

Or by scandal do you mean the vatican bank's fraudulent loans and near collapse in 2010? It's still a financial mess two years later.

    http://ncronline.org/blogs/ncr-today/new-vatican-bank-scandal-threatens-erupt

Or are you talking about the vatican aiding and abetting wanted criminals, letting them hide in the vatican until the statute of limitations expires and the criminals can no longer be charged with the crime? Most notable are Paul Marcinkus (financial fraud) and Bernard Law (protector of pedophiles).

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Marcinkus

Or are you calling it a "scandal" for someone to be ethical and leak documents which expose the vatican's corruption? That butler is likely the only one who will be prosecuted, yet he is the only one in the catholic cult who behaved ethically. That says a lot about their priorities.

What gets me is how the Pope says that he is under the protection of god, but he needs bulletproof glass to protect him and catholics don't see the contradiction.

Pope Pius, the WWII wartime Pope, had the power to stop Hitler, but he did not. This is a disgrace. Scandalous? Maybe not.
