You're a waiter/waitress. You're given a credit card and told to tip yourself anything. How much do you take?
Let's assume there is practically no limit to how much you can charge to their card, and they give you no opinion as to how much you give yourself. It's totally up to you.

20%. That's a generous tip, but not an unreasonable or horribly greedy one.

Depends on the restarant itself and the pricing.
There are high society clubs where a 1000$ tip is nothing special.Like (1)

Dependng on the size of the group or was it just a couple. a group is 20 percent a coupld is between 15 and 19 percent. if I am handed a credit card and told to tip myself what ever I wanted, I'd use common sense to maintain employment.

If I knew that I had provided excellent service, 20%. Otherwise, average service 15% and as for poor service, I would not tip myself.

I would ask if I was worth 20% and if that amount was OK..
