No canned soups, that's for sure. I might as well eat a salt lick.

Anything vegetarian and homemade is awesome.

Well, apparently there's this new toyota that, while not yet available, has shown in private testing to get 100 miles per gallon.  It's a hybrid and it is very impressively souped up.  Plus that means great things for the earth!  Go green!  (Can that be my favorite soup?)

Butternut squash, no contest.

The best is Wolfgang Puck (the cafe/restaurant, not his canned stuff) or other nicer restaurant.  Yum!

I love clam chowder(frozen Phillips) then you heat the frozen liquid in its own bowl until it is loose.  You then put it in a pan of warm milk, some margarine,a can of minsed clams,a little pepper and let it heat on low until it is at the correct tempeture for you and enjoy.

I also love my mother's chicken sou.  Home made from scratch of course.

Boil chicken with salt and pepper and a little margarine

take chicken from bones, add small chopped potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, and some more margarine.  Let simmer in juice from chicken for several hours until vegetables are tinder.  Taste often for taste.  You may add mushrooms(Green Giant canned mushrooms in butter) and peas later on if you desire.

Het up some nice rolls or biscuits with honey and you have a meal fit for aKing

Pasta e fagioli.  Good ole italian soup made with pasta believe it or not, borlotti beans, potatoes, onions, garlic, olive oil, sage n chicken broth.  SOOOO good.  I used to tell my kids it was brain food and they loved it.  Cheap to make too, especially if ur on a limited budget.  and I used to feel like clever mum feeding her kids with wholesome food.  That n homemade wholewheat bread. Yum

Yes, actually I do think that Global Warming is contributing to some of the severe weather we have been seeing across the nation and throughout the world.

Soup?

Can't we ratchet this up a little and make it, oh, I don't know, relevant and interesting?

I tweaked a broccoli and cheese soup.  I make this in a crock pot...I use frozen broccoli and a can of evaporated milk... 1/2 can water...2 diced potato's, some fine diced ham, and a box of Velveeta cheese...I let this go for about 3-3 1/2 hours then I add a little flour to thicken it.....MMMMMMM Goooood... Don't let the red can people know about it...Will have to hunt them down.....Make sure to top it with shredded cheddar cheese.... and home made bread

Too bad it is summer and 100 degrees...Makes me want to put on a pot...

Hot and sour soup is my favorite at the Chinese eateries.

Otherwise I've become a nut for Tortilla Soup. It's one of those where you can't just plop it out of a can. It can only be freshly made...

And it's wonderful with a couple little scoops of avocado garnish.

Playing the Question of the Day is super simple. Every day we post a new question -- some are funny, some are serious -- but all are provocative. You answer the question in your own words (short please -- no more than two paragraphs). You (and others) rate all the entries -- give it a thumbs up if you like it.
