My trick is to use cash only, take out the amount of cash you allow yourself to spend, other than bills, for the week or the month, or whenever you get your check.  When you have run out of money, you go home.

Buy clothes from the goodwill store. Dumpster dump for food and use public transportation instead of using my car. I save $500.00 a month just by doing these things. These are hard times!!!!!!

I save money by not going out to the stores when I have money. I also have a piggy bank set up and deposit all my change in it after making several purchases. When I am making a purchase with money I know that my piggy bank is getting bigger. So far I saved $30. My goal is to save for a disney trip. Several years; but, it is a dream.

at the end of the day i toss my loose change into a jar and let it collect. i also have a habit of stick single dollar bills back in a special conpartment in my wallet. after a while, when i decied to count thru my change jar and single dollar bills, i'm surprised by how much i've squirrlled away.

Two meals a day: breakfast as late as possible means lunch two or three hours later than usual means no dinner because you'll be full by dinner time.

I hate the thought of wasting money, which makes it a lot easier for me, but I when I get money, I put most of it away and only take it out when I need it. I go out with my friendgroup a lot (inc. bf) but we're all in the same boat- we all need to save money so we don't spend too much. And my bf, who works, often helps me out (like boyfriends do).

So that's how to do it- just be sensible and keep track of everything. When you receive a large sum- don't go crazy, only keep some if you want to.
