Because it's a healthy snack they can give out usually in little boxes the size of candy bars.  Good for them!  (Me?  I usually give out the sugary stuff.  But at least now, I feel guilty about it!)

they think that the children of this generation are ignorant and gettin fat, so they want to do somethign about it... personally i like raisins, but if you're fat and used to eating fatty foods, you might wanna stick with the fat so you dont get sick

because they look like shrunken body parts , and todays children are getting so fat maybe we should get them hooked back on natural sugars

for: cuz people think they're healthier snacks, and also, they're cheaper than candy. some ppl don't like kids coming round to their house and demanding sweeties from them!

against: most kids think they're boring, and also halloween's not there to make you to eat healthy fruit and veg, it's about having fun sugary treats and having a laugh!

me personally? im against it....halloween is about getting lots of candy and having fun with your friends, not getting bits of dried fruit instead! i know it's just cuz ppl r trying to get kids to eat healthier stuff, but there's a time and a place for everything, right? and as far as im concerned, candy's place is in halloween!

BECAUSE THE PEOPLE GIVING THEM ARE FROM OVERSTOCK.COM. SO WHY BUY CANDY!

Because the people giving them out are too cheap to buy candy and probably use the raisins to move their bowels along...lol!

The obvious is that many people do like to give out a healthy snack.   Raisins are great!!   But sometimes at Halloween, some folks have either run out of candy or forgot to buy some.  Ooops.   I think it's a great gesture.... kids have too much candy these days anyway.

Cause they're cheap ( candy is pretty inexepensive) or they think it's healthier, which it's not really considering any dried fruit is a concentrated form of that sugar and lots of dried fruit fruit are treated with sulphites and what not.  Or, they really can't afford to buy candy but still want to participate, enjoy the festivities :)

Fortunately, Halloween in Australia is virtually a nonenity and as important as Labor Day or the Queens birthday (in Oz)...just a reason for bludgers to have a paid day's holiday in USA.

However, from what I have read, Halloween can and has caused quite a few tradgedies.   That's one "celebration" USA can observe on its own.

I think that it is a great gesture because with dental prices going up, parents can not afford their children to have cavities. Besides, raisins are natures candy.
