Hairstylists Are Humans Too

I feel that when people talk about hairstylist they forget that we're only human and we make mistakes like anyone else. And yes that means making a mistake on YOUR precious head and that's why my job is so stressful. I have extended education and years of experience but I can make a bad call or sometimes the hair itself is just unpredictable and doesn't take right. It haunts me for days if I'm not happy with a job I did. I'm just saying, it's hard as well as rewarding having responsibility over something so personal to people. But please forgive us and respect us and remember we are people too and we care

Wow! I love what you said thank you so much for posting this even though it was a while ago.

What is your favorite part about being a hairstylist?

OMG! I have had one of those days where I am just fried from a long week. And so it is the last day of the week, I have two wonderful ladies scheduled. I know their color and it is easy going.. Then I have the last minute walk-in. I met a lady who has had an even harder week than me! I can feel her stress, and I make a bad call on what red to put in her hair. Reds can be so tricky! But I cannot get out of my head that I could not make the perfect color for her. She wanted a nice red auburn around a level 7 and we got Copper! She left unsure.. I know that when we get the right color there is no question so, anything less than that is the wrong color. Oh well, I hope she comes back... cannot win them all... I don't think they will ever know how much we care :)
