Just A Small Town Country Farm Girl

Growing up on a small Maui Farm, surrounded by boys, I was always in a t-shirt and a pair of jeans, ready to play in the river, dirt and mud. Sure, I had a few dresses, but was never comfortable wearing them. I could never be myself in a dress. It was an occasion I'd have to sit and behave myself. I wore a mu'u mu'u to church. That's what we called the floor length dresses on Hawaii. As soon as I got home, I couldn't be back in my jeans and t-shirt soon enough.

I have always been more comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt. Come to think of it, I'm trying to remember the last time I wore a dress. I have a photo of me wearing one at I think a wedding reception, sorting out wine. I was the only one they trusted as I don't drink alcohol. What I don't remember is who's wedding was it and how long ago.

These days, being that I am in a colder climate area, the jeans and t-shirt are an everyday item, accompanied by a sweatshirt, sometimes two during the colder months. I can't imagine wearing anything else at this point of my life, as I prefer to be comfortable, especially while at work or even out and about.
