I Abortion Pill
I'll try to keep this as brief as possible. I took the abortion pill when I was 7 weeks pregnant at age 25. I am now 28 and have a heathy 2 year old baby. This write up of my experience with the abortion pill will be compared to that of giving natural birth, with no epidural.
Before taking the abortion pill, I spent days on the internet trying to find an accurate description of what happens to your body after taking the pill and I could not find anything. So here I am, sharing my story.
I went to the abortion clinic and they gave me one pill to take infront of the sister (please forgive me, I can't remember the names of the pills.) I didn't feel any cramping or anything out of the ordinary. 24 hours later I was instructed to take the second pill. The cramping started instantly and started increasing in pain quite rapidly. (Now after spending 17 hours in labour with my baby, I could say the abortion pill was those 17 hours all crammed into 45-60 minutes.) The contractions are very painful, much like the same contractions as you would have before giving birth. Yes, that painful.
After about 10 minutes I sat on the toilet because it felt like I had to push? Also, sitting down eased the cramps. The cramps come in waves, just like contractions would. I then started vomiting and could not stop until my stomach reached bile. After 45 minutes of the worst pain ever, I passed a small bit of blood, same as a normal period. The cramps subsided, I was shakey and cold, the nausea from the pregnancy was gone immediately.
I wrapped myself in a blanket and read a book for 2 hours until I found the strength to get up again. At this stage I had no appetite and no thirst for a few hours. Much like a very very bad hangover.
This was just the start...
Another 24 hours later, I woke up in a pool of blood. This was my body passing out everything. Again, I went and sat on the toilet. I pushed as if to urinate and huge chunks of what looks and feels like chopped liver, came out of me. It didn't pass all at once. This was about a 3-4 hour process with more cramping (more like bad period cramping). You feel like urinating and defecating but chunks of "liver" leave your body. Again, drained and tired and weak, this is what seems to be the end of the grueling process of the abortion pill.
This is not something you can go through on your own. There are times where you think your life is about to end. Keep someone caring close by your side incase anything goes wrong. I wouldn't say I made the wrong decision at the time, but if I ever had to go through an abortion again, I would definitely not go with the abortion pill.
