or the past eight years, I have been employed by two large chain bookstores. The pay is terrible, but I do love being surrounded by books all day- they are what makes working retail almost tolerable. I was approached by staff members of each company and asked to fill out applications and this was solely because I was a well-known customer. I would go into each store a few times a week just to look around. There's something so hopeful about walking into a bookstore, like whatever ails you, the cure is contained in a book somewhere in there.

  | Posted Apr 3rd, 2009 at 6:21PM yes, there's one question I've always wanted to ask about that, since I'm a diligent book worm myself XD, do you get to read any book you like from the bookstore you work in or not? Cause that would sound like one hell of a job offer!   |
 Feeling determined | Posted Apr 3rd, 2009 at 7:12PM Book stores are great resources. Where I live I have to travel 40 minutes to get to a major chain one. There are two smaller ***** malls and none of them will put one in, despite having empty space to lease. I like the fact that there are times I find something totally interesting, that I wasn't even looking for, and I pick it up. |
