Avoid the survival of the fittest analogy. The species don't slug it out. Instead genetic diversity allows population of species to adapt to changes in the environment that increases selective pressures. Thus increases in sea water salinity will see populations of the same species but with different tolerances to salinity migrate from one part of the sea to another. Over a period of time they become genetically distinct stop inter breeding and this is the start of speciation. Living fossils have adapted to their eco-niche and becasue they are living at great depths they are in a very stable environment - ergo no selective pressure and no variation.

Maybe this will help you. What is the meaning of evolution? It's simply the adaption of the population of a certain species to it's surroundings through selection. Most species are actually perfectly adapted to their surroundings. But let's imagine that their's a change in their environment because of climatic changes. The part of the population which is better adapted to the changed environment has a higher chance of surviving which's increasing the possibility of having offsprings.

Now to the living fossils. Imagine a cave in the ocean. It's isolated from the outside now but 350 million years ago there might have been an entry which the fish used to get into the cave. It's impossible for a new species to enter this cave. Environmental changes won't affect it. Logical consequense is that a species which is already perfectly adapted to it's surroundings won't be forced to adapt/change further.

Profoundly ignorant about biological science - the points you bring up have been illuminated long ago. Read a little Gould or Dawkins.

Something like the eye is simple but getting to the explanation would require more biology and genetics than it seems you possess.

It’s not gradual. It’s required some kind of outer influence for an organism to evolve. Like lack of enough food in the sea, therefore exploring land territories. There are organisms that can obtain oxygen from both air and water alike.

It’s just the more logical conclusion than some supreme being responsible for everything.

By gradual i meant slow process(English in not my first language, pardon me)
yes it requires an external agent, but then how come there exists living fossils, why did'nt they evolve? why did they survive the change required for their survival(survival 4 the fittest)

Some evolve, some don’t. I have no idea what was the key to their survival. And English is not my native language either :)

What do you mean by "living fossils"? Clades are branched, not linear. Because a family has changed (evolved) does not mean that the founding population has gone extinct.

NO Intermediate between fish and reptile? They are called amphibians!

    Nice try fundie.

u believe amphibians are the intermediate?? That sounds like a text book thing. i think amphibians are separate organisms from fish and reptiles.

They are separate organisms. But having characteristics of both fish and reptiles is a clue enough for me to get to the conclusion that they somehow appeared in between.

well then if you did a bit of biology, you know that a single cell is not simple as people think, help me understand where it evolved from?
