Douglas Hofstadter is one of those people, he has some interesting ideas regarding analogies and abstraction. If that kind of thing fills your bucket. Please check these lectures (my favorite ones)

(1) Analogy as the Core of Cognition

(2) The Nature of Categories and Concepts

He has also written many books if you need more.

there are 2 kinds of knowledge
one is useful and one is useless.
try to get the useful knowledge that makes u happy after death. just for example find someone who can rationally prove there is a God and only one and there is a infinite life after death.

Here is Kurt Gödels mathematical proof of god. http://upload.wikimedia.org/math/a/b/4/ab47f643c7918fda58089c7f5129a183.png
Will that make me happy after death? What knowledge is useful when I’m dead?
