PumpingStaying in milk is very important to me. In order to keep my milk production at an optimum level, I need to be suckled very regularly. I like to try to produce at least two quarts a day. In adult nursing relationships, it is not always easy to have a consistent nursing schedule. I cannot always count on people, but I can always count on my hospital-grade double breast pump. It's a monstrosity & it cost a freakin' fortune, but it worth every single penny I spent on it. When I'm not being milked, I religiously pump 2-3 times a day.
It's important to set the mood & relax when I pump. I like to be unencumbered, so I generally ***** to the waist and have a soft shawl nearby in case I get a chill. During my evening sessions, I always pour myself a glass or two of wine or a Guinness. I carefully grease my thick nipples with pure lanolin to keep them soft & supple. I then insert my nipples gently into the pump's flanges, make sure the seal is nice & airtight, turn my beloved pump on high & off I go! As I've lactated & nursed over the years, my breasts have become . . . well, to be honest-- huge. Before I began nursing, I was a 34 barely-a-B. I'm a 36DD and a DDD when engorged. I've had to be careful to make sure the flanges are big enough. A double pump alternates from breast to breast. I love to watch how the suction elongates my nipple as it is sucked down the tube. The milk sprays out & its warmth fogs up the glass a bit. Then I turn my attention to the other nipple. It's really quite lovely to see.
I also recommend a toy called an iRider. It's a small battery-operated saddle (with protruding benefits) that I continuously grind on while I pump. I love to watch myself in the mirror when I'm all hooked up to my milking machine, flushed pink & rocking my cares away. If I am satisfied & happy--and that can happen several times a pumping session when I'm playing cowgirl--I am convinced my milk is much more abundant & also creamier.
