A Few Times

First time was when I was in a serious car accident at the age of five, where my mom and sister died. I had severe road rash, and was badly cut in a few places. I was thrown out of the vehicle onto the highway, so I would say that was narrowly escaping death

The next time was when I was about six and our large dog who was on a chain attached to a lead (the clothes line) got his chain wrapped around my neck and strangled me. My step-mom saw me passed out when she looked out the window and was able to remove the chain and I was able to breath again. The chain burn was brutal.

Third time was at the age of sixteen, when on a road trip with friends, the driver of our car lost control and hit a transport. Totalled our car, but we were all ok.

Fourth was during childbirth of my first child. I suddenly went into distress and they had to get the baby out asap. They did a If it were the olden days, I would have died. I had to have a 4th degree episiotomy (youch) and he was forced out with all their strength with forceps. On top of that, the epidural wore off, and it was the worst pain of my life. If that didn't work I would have had an emergency C-section. They already told my husband to get into his scrubs in order to rush me to the OR. Anyway, it all turned out ok in the end, but I was the talk of the nurses station for a few days.

That's about it.

oh wow .... just found this story McToady ... what a tale!! you've certainly used up a few of your nine lives it seems!!

I'm surprised you don't have a phobia of cars, after being in two near-fatal car accidents!

the first one was the real mother ****** though. that one had no happy ending.

lol that guy's seriously annoying!

No wonder you didn't enjoy giving birth. Props to you for having a second!

Wow - that's pretty insane. I don't think tha I've met someone that has had more close calls with death then you.

It's lucky that your still alive though, there was a high chance that you could have died in any of those [obviously I guess..]

You must be a pretty epic person if you're still alive after all that. I've never been faced with any of those situations and I'm actually pretty glad that I'm not. Because I'm the most un-luckiest person I know. :P

I think you've had more than your fair share of trauma, McT! It's obviously made you live life to the full and appreciate what you've got. Loved the April Fool's!!!!

Funniest obvious statement. ^

You must have a purpose. :)

Wow. You've had some close calls. The first is very sad.

A good thing that it ends with "that's about it"... oh boy... Or, oh girl... A few narrow escapes there, Mac *phew*...
