I Am A Boy Why Cant I Wear Dresses Like My Sister
Growing up boys could wear dresses but in private. Today many boys (and men) do wear dresses. I just love to wear dresses. These last couple weeks I wanted to but it was rather chilly so I wore my ladies cords out. In another few weeks the daily temperature will be warmer and it will be more comfortable to wear a dress.
But society does not approve. The reason may be rather complex and complicated to anser. As they say nothing is easy. In the USA the norm is different. Boys (and men) in other countries wear tunics, robes, kilts and similar dress. Social norms are there and play a role. Fashion perhaps?
Could be a long list of reasons. Perhaps, wearing a dress shows a weaker character? In a boy that can be perceived as a negative and different thing and can attract negative feedback. I'm not a social scientist but having worn dresses I enjoy doing it and don't plan to stop.
Keep you head high and enjoy those Spring colors.
