Prostate Cancer Survivor

Radical prostectomy (prostate cancer ) survivor. Had surgery 11 years ago and although I have issues slight incontinence (dribble a little when I sneeze or strain) impotent due to surgery (not nerve sparing). I tried pumps, injections (yes, injected my own penis trying to obtain an erection--OUCH )and Viagara but nothing worked. Finally decided on a penile implant and it works okay but believe me I am not the same size I was before the surgery even with the penile implant. But hey, I'm still here to tell about my cancer and although I have some issues I can proudly state that after 11 years my PSA level is zero and I can still enjoy sex. I guess you could say that this is a "success" story??

    I too, had prostate cancer 11 years ago. I waited so long to see a doctor that he told me, 10 days later when I saw him, he said when I saw him on Wed, if I had waited till Fri I wouldn't have had to keep the appointment, and I asked why not, and he said,"Cause you would have been dead. It took 51 weeks for me to get back to work. At least I'm still here.
