LOL! Well I took her for a check up at the vets and they said that she was fine. They think that my boyfriend might have done something to upset/frighten her. They also said that as she's getting old she'll kind of be like an old woman so she will be grumpy.

My boyfriend has discovered that it's when he wants to move her from a spot that she hisses.

Keep the loyal little Kitty and dump the boyfriend.

Thank you for all your comments.

I have had a talk with my boyfriend and he has promised to try and get along more with my cat. So far we have achieved the two of them being in the same room without her hissing or scratching him.

If the boyfriend is abusive to kitty, how's he gonna be to girlie?

I have been the boyfriend in this situation. I kid you not, Enara's car threw me outta bed.. I am bigger than the cat, but the plan of using a bed is to be asleep and I thought waking up with my eyeballs would be nice... so I took the couch on the first night....

The cat got over it after a few visits.and all three of us were soon sharing the bed...

But if your boyfriend is mistreating your cat, then I am afraid -he's- the problem and not your cat.

I think you are on the right path dear, he has certainly done SOMETHING to your pet, for her to re-act to him this way. Your b/f is jealous of her, nothing surer. Stick to your guns, tell him he has no other option than to get along with her, if he can't... well he can leave. You are not going to have your pet for too much longer, and what time you do have she deserves to live it happerly with you, her mum.

True but my Grandmother isn't a cat person either and my cat ran to her and greeted her.

Cats are sensitive creatures... if he doesn't like her, she will sense it. I guess the question in my mind is why would he handle her roughly, especially knowing how much she means to you? I cannot imagine your giving her up. Hope you can sort it out.
