My Cat Has Ibs, Can Anyone Give Me Some Advise?

Hello!  I guess this isn't the best intro on this site, but I thought it might be worth it.  My name is Anissa.  My husband and I share our lives with 5 adorable cats, who are pretty much our kids at this time.  One of my babies, Garfield, is sick.  We took him to the vet today, and they said he seems to have IBS (irritable Bowel Syndrom) and they gave him some injections to help ease his stomach, as he has been vomiting quite a bit.  Well, since we brought him home, all he does is sleep.  We try to get him moving a little, but he walks about 7 steps and lays back down.  They had to put a little fluid in him, as he was slightly dehydrated.  He had this happen a little over a year ago, but he seems a little worse then before.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can help him?  It hurts my soul seeing him like this.  I'm hoping by morning, he'll be better, as that is what happened last time, but I don't know.  Any suggestions on how to help him would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much! :)

    Awwww! What a sad story! It would be so much easier taking care of our furry friends if only they could speak to us. They do communicate with us, it's just not always understood. We just need to teach them our language! :)

    Hi! Thank you for your concern. Garfy is doing better, *knock on wood*. He's finally eating on his own and has been following me around the house and cuddles with us when we watch TV. We think we figured out why he hasn't been eating, we think he didn't like the food we got them. We tried some new stuff and he's been chowing down! Yay! Thanks again for your comment! :)

      Hi, Alissa! That is very good news. Sometimes simple answers come our (and our cats') way! I wish I had known years ago that the reason a cat I had kept "going outside the box" was maybe due to dislike of the litter I bought. She was a gorgeous, silken haired, long haired, white kitty with blue eyes. I thought she was a brat and had her euthanized. After decades with cats, including growing up with them, I have learned so much.
