Waiting Upon the Lord.....

I have spent the last two years actively doing what God has called me to do....start a business. However, I must admit during this time it has been hard to not want to focus on strictly speaking for Him. My heart is being able to watch people when the proverbial "light bulb" clicks on and they get it for the first time.

I mean truly "Get IT" and to see God work in their lives.

How about any of you?

I have a disabled friend who I take to special places where he tells of his experience of being hit by a drunk driver when he was 18, and is now 24. He uses a walker, has hearing loss, speaks with a slur, and has poor short term memory. His girlfriend, who was driving,
never came back to him. He is a wonderful witness for
Jesus! He is so thankful for life, and always has something nice to say to people. He gives God the glory for saving his life, and inspries people by talking about
keeping a positive attitude and quoting scripture. His
favorite is James 1:2 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."
I am also disabled, but can get around quite well with a cane. I am in Toastmasters, and wish more people were. I do not fancy myself ever being a motivational
speaker, but I did renently become quaified as a Gideon
speaker - to give presentations about the work of the Gideons in church services - in about a 10 minute speach.
What was the background for your becoming a Christian speaker ? Do you do Bible lesson seminars?
Women's conferences?
