All thoes capitalist and facist comment below, please shut your trap. The only reason communism in the CCCP, China, Cuba, North Korea, And Vietnam is because they are not doind it right. Stalin was once a true communist but then facism grew in his heart and he became a truly evil man. Mao was never a communist either, he was a dictator trying to destroy and kill. Nor was castro, kim jong il's dad (I forgot his name.) And communist vietnams dictator (forgot his name too...) and because of them communism is destroyed.... now think about it before you say such mean things that offend others.

First, Russia is not communist, they are democratic and have been since 1992. They have unemployment and homeless people just like everyone else.

China is not communist. China has a free market economy. Their govt is Marxist-Leninist, but their economy is free market. ML is a political state, communism is an economic state.

If ML and communism was so successful, then Russia (USSR) would not have imploded in 1992 and China would not have the world's fastest growing economy.

North Korea has a ML society (dictatorship) and a communist economy. In the mid nineties, 1M people died from starvation and currently about 100k die every year from malnutrition. 35 percent of prisoners die every year in their political prisons.

Cuba is ML and communist. As many as 50 percent of all the women resort to prostitution just to have money to buy food.

I could go on, but I don't have the time to document 100 years of economic and political failures related to ml and communism. Perhaps you should do some research on your own. Start with the Ukraine famine? of 1932/1933 when Stalin murdered 12M-15M Ukranians in 1 year through starvation. Or do some research on North Korea and the political prison camps like Camp 21, 22 or 24.

There is a really obvious problem with communism in large communities, which lack of incentive. It can work within a family or a small village, but if how much you work has no effect of the happiness and welfare (dare I say utility?) of you or anyone you care about, there's no reason to work. Also, don't you know what happened to the communist Soviet Union? My parents grew up there, and the people there had a saying which, roughly translated, means 'We don't work, and you don't feed us.' And you know 'from each by his ability to each by his need'? Who is some fat guy in the government to decide what we 'need'? They would literally measure out tiny amounts of oil and meat out every month, and they would have these tiny door ways where they were like 'how much room does a person, who is really skinny because we don't feed them, to walk through? Okay, let's do three quarters of that, it doesn't really concern us either way, and it's easier to build.'

Russia's current economy is terrible and their government is corrupt and they have a dictator who fakes elections so much it isn't even funny and all of Russia looks like a giant spiderweb centered on Moscow.

I happen to have a great college job as well as an internship working with DARPA. Everyone's equal and should be treated equal. You can't say I work 3:00 an hour, so just shut your ignorance. Social disparity is what leads to wars, poverty, famine, everything that's wrong with this planet, all because humans are selfish and ignorant, a mindless race we are despite the process evolution has had. People like you I feel like you don't even know how many people you step on. Despite our capitalist (every man and woman for themselves) system, a little help doesn't hurt. I do not defend the people who leech government money, but i do to those who use the well deserved help to get off the ground and into work. People like you are ignorant to the lives of others.

Humans are all the same, we seem to have forgotton that ideal. We were born the same, but given different chances, some good, some terrible. IF there were a government in the u.s. tht gave everyone the same chances, same everything, then mabey someday realizing the no social classifications dream, no calling people minorities dream just because they have a different nationality dream, mabey someday it would come to pass. I think its time for a new world order.
