My Way Is the Right Way

I can’t help it but I am getting better. It’s mostly with the kids and the way things are done. When my oldest would go to her grandmothers I needed things to be my way. Feed her what I say, put the cloths on that I sent and even do her hair a certain way. Yes control freak to the greatest extent! Mostly though it was when I took the bottle away and she would give her one behind my back. Or when I try to potty train and she puts a diaper on. It made me crazy! Another big deal was they didn’t believe in car seats. I’d catch her with the baby on her lap and throw a fit. One time they came home to find me there and they were all smiles because she was in the seat. Well when I took her out I realized they never buckled it. I literally threw the seat across the yard and left. (I’ve so calmed down from then). Another time I showed up and the baby was in the house alone and they were all out back. I took the baby and went home only to have the X call in a panic because no one could find her. The door was locked from that day forward.

It doesn't sound to me like you are a control freak, just a concerned parent. I would have reacted exactly the same way you did. Granted, I am also a control freak so you may want to take this with a grain of salt :-)
