Cowardice - of Men Who Are Mice.

When you have been presented with the best opportunities that society can offer;

When you have been gifted with good health, an able body and a potent intelligence;

When you have had a stable family and good friends;

When you have had the best benefits and blessings of this rich society;

When you can see how the world itself cries from wounds and needs warriors to rally to its cause;

When you have the benefit of wisdom and insight into the world on all its myriad levels;

When you have the tools to craft an extraordinary life of love and contribution and calling;

And you do not.

You see the many paths to the larger world,
And step aside to watch passively some more,
Squander your meagre winnings thus far,
And quake in fear of the future
Refusing to move
For fear of
Fear.

This is cowardice.

Dear The TardyDodo, fear can make cowards of all of us if we allow it to,
But to allow it to stop us from being part of the wonderful world and doing the part we were assigned to do, and are capable of doing to make everything so much better, for everyone, is beyond cowardice, it is beyond fear, it is letting yourself and the world down, which is betrayal at its worst!
We are given these talents to share with others not to hide them away and let them decay.
This is a wonderful post, thank you for putting it out here to remind us of our privilege of being born on this lovely planet!

Amazing post, thanks for sharing.

BULLSHIT! U know how much courage it takes to be given all that and turn your back on it? And not for 'fear of fear' but because you realise the innevitable hurt that you'll cause if you exercise your power and, realising hurt is innevitable, you choose not be an ******* and put the wellbeing of others before your own glory.
That's not aking the passive path! That's taking all the wounds -daily- that we're thus far emotionally capable of and, knowing how deep each one cuts, bearing it 'cos u care too much for others!
