I Am the Lizard King! I Can Do Anything!

I don't have particularly much of a story here, but I am a self confessed huge Doors fan.

The main person at fault I suppose would be my father. He has heavily influenced my music tastes, the main infuences being (but not limited to):

The Doors (well obviously), Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, the Beatles, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Queen (that's all I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure there's more)

I'd like to think however that I'm not one of those rabid Doors fans who irritate the hell out of people and all they do is glorify Jim Morrision and the Young Lion/Lizard King persona. I'd have to say my favourite Door is not in fact Jim, but Ray Manzarek, the keyboard player (he is brilliant)

I also have to say though that I do not in any way support The Doors of the 21st Century. I know that Jim was not the Doors, the Doors were a whole and that's exactly my point, Jim is dead, so I don't see the point in continuing. It would be like Queen replacing Freddie, or the Beatles replacing John or George, they were brilliant but they are sadly deceased so they should leave it be. I thoroughly support John Densmore (the drummer) taking action to stop it and not having a part of it.

But that's more or less to my story (if you could call it a story, heh) But please, feel free to join me in the love of the Doors. But now I'm off to the Roadhouse to have myself a beer!

The end

Gotta love the Doors.

I saw the Doors in '67, right when their first album came out. You're right, the chemistry depended on all four of them, but Morrison was front and center, their fate rose and fell with him. Amazing show.

It is nice to see a younger person appreciating classic rock. I'll meet you at the roadhouse!
