I've Never Cared.

A personal story in the experience: I Am a Fashion Victim
I 've never cared what I wore.  Jeans and a tshirt were always the extent of my wardrobe.  For special events I'd "dress up" with a nice pair of slacks and a nice top.  That's it.   I don't give a damn, I guess.  I haven't worn a dress in 30 years.  I never wear jewelry, I never put on perfume or makeup.
Anyone else like this, or am I just a freak?  Don't answer that.  :>

right there with ya... until.....

on the day we married - dh took me shopping and bought me $3000 worth of skirts and tops and high heeled shoes.
I wear them - for two reasons.
1. he likes it and that makes me happy
2. I'm too cheap to spend that much on clothes and NOT wear them.

So... looks like I might be turning "girly" on ya.

I'd say... not everyone can be as cool as you! Alas, that means the fashion industry continues its inglorious march :P

i've always had my own 'style' and it's never been the 'in' thing ... i do my makeup if i have to go somewhere. as far as hair is concerned, i attempt to keep my hair cut so that i don't have to 'style' it ... EVER! wash it and towel dry - viola'! makeup is ENOUGH to deal with, i don't wanna have to worry with my hair too!

I'm with Abby there. I wear jeans to work daily, Have to wear a decent top though. I have long hair just so I don't have to do anything with it. I put on eye liner and mascara and I'm out the door. 15 minutes to shower and get ready for work. :) mission accomplished

I'm the same way! I never wear makeup (have never even thought about perfume), rarely do anything to my hair, 99% of the time wear jeans and converse and a t-shirt I received for free from whatever organization I was a part of (band, camps, blood drives...).

It's a little sad because occasionally I feel like it would be nice to have some sense of personal style just to kind of establish my identity I guess, but then I never know what that would be.

Being a high school student in Orange County, CA doesn't help either.

But anyway, I'm completely sympathetic to your "freakish" (

Your definately not a freak, it wouldn't do if we all looked the same.
When i was younger all i wore was a t-shirt and jodphurs (i had horses) and now i'm older i've just swapped the jodphurs for jeans! The last time i wore a dress was my wedding dress 7 yrs ago! I don't wear make-up (only for special occasions) and i'm not that into jewellery. Men aren't under pressure to slap aload of stuff on their face or cover themselves in the 'must have' jewellery (unless their that way inkind ;) ) so why should we women?

Exactly Ever. It always seemed to me to be patently unfair that guys never had to do any o that shite. So I refused. :> Now, it's just habit...
