Well... I Am Not Really a Computer Geek...

I dunno.

I took CS classes as a minor at college. I had a hate-love relationship with CS. I still do. I feel lonely because I have rather strange interests: I like algorithms and AI ( algs part, not imitating human stupidity.) I like systems and software design. I like seeing how everything comes together if you did a good job designing it. I like to code for fun, but it is not something you share with your girly friends... I was never taken seriously at college: they all told me "but you are not going to code anyway." I think I will build a system myself and maybe get a start-up going.

I dunno...

You are an engineer at heart! You are not alone... just needing to find your happy place. Find some engineer-types to hang out with and cultivate that natural talent.

That's right, it's not a boy thing or a girl thing - it a coder/rest-of-the-world thing.<br />

I know this experience is a "female" thing but I hate starting new Experiences so...<br />

When I took my first EDP class (and I was halfway through it before I realized EDP meant programming) our third test consisted of writing a program to produce output a certain way. The instructor showed us his output - it didn't quite match the course materials and the instructor said 100 instructions. I did it in 99 and got output matching the course materials. I thought that was so cool I stayed in programming for over 30 years.

I like the end results of good coding too, but I don't like the coding itself. It's very impossible to talk to normal people about coding though =P
