Aspiring Funeral Director!

I'm an 18 year old female. I havent always wanted this career but, its always kind of been in the back of my head. I was going to school for medical diagnostic sonography, but i dropped out because i had a sudden change of heart.
2 of my friends died in a car accident, and i got the chance to go back to the embalming room & see them after the funeral home had recieved the bodies. I guess it dawned on me about 2 weeks after that. As i researched on the internet, i became SOOO much more interested in the job. Now it is my goal to become a funeral director/embalmer. I plan on going to school in the spring of 2013. I honestly have no clue what to expect, but i think i am prepared. Death doesnt bother me. To me, its all about the chance to get to take care of them after death...even if i dont know them personally.
Most of my family and friends are NOT okay with this decision, because they think it is morbid & not "for me". All i have to say to that is, "Someone has to do it!!"
but I am VERY excited to start my career in funeral directing/mortuary science. I just wish i knew more! I'd love to hear more stories, and experiences in funeral directing honestly.
